Assuming that the steel has the required level of fire protection already, the topcoat should be as recommended by the manufacturer of the intumescent paint used. If this is not known, in certain instances on small projects something like Thermoguard Flame Retardant Topcoat could be used if approved by the relevant authority on the project - for larger projects please contact our Technical Team on 0113 2455450 (option 2).
