Hi, i am trying to find out the quantities needed to bring some doors up to a fire rating, i have 18 door sides to paint and want to use the 1 coat primer, 2 coat intumescent and then 1 top coat of white gloss. Am i correct in saying if the 0.5l /1.5l /0.5l kit does 3/4 door sides then working on it doing 3 sides worst case scenario i then should get 3l primer/9l intumescent/3l topcoat? Would appreciate you advice on the 18 standard size panel doors and best amount needed as i need to get it correct. Many thanks
To ensure you are purchasing and applying sufficient material you must measure your door surface areas to get to a total square metre area to coat and then buy a sufficient Door Upgrade Paint System.
If you would like us to help, please provide our Technical Department ([email protected]) with an image of the door(s) (if possible) and as much information as possible for the below points;
- Level of Fire Protection required? (i.e. 30min, 60min, etc.)
- Style of door? (i.e. panelled, ledge & brace, etc.)
- Solid or hollow core? - (please note we cannot provide anything to upgrade hollow doors)
- Door size? (height and width)
- Door thickness? (include thickness at thinnest point (i.e. panel))
- Number of doors to do?
- Clear or coloured finish required?
- Bare or previously painted?
