Need Help?

Hi. I've just purchased some Thermoguard Thermocoat undercoat and Frame Retardant top coat. Please can you advise if it is suitable for use with an HVLP sprayer or if you would recommend a different method of spray application? It is being applied to an internal steel column. Also, the column is currently treated with red oxide paint with a top coat of emulsion paint. Do I need to rub it down to remove the emulsion paint before applying the Thermoguard? Thank you for your help Andy

Unfortunately Thermoguard Thermocoat products are not suitable for application by HVLP, but they can be applied by brush or roller or commercial airless spray equipment.

If the steel has anything other than a compatible primer on, it must be stripped back to bare metal before application of a compatible primer then the Thermocoat system.

In this case you will need to apply Thermoguard Steel Fire Paint Primer once you have stripped the steel back to a bare, sound condition.
