Need Help?

Hi I wondered if you could help me. I'm looking at fore resistant paint for our steel ceiling bar in our kitchen. Does the paint come with the certification? Also do you also do paint for wooden ceiling joists as we would like to keep them exposed aswel. Where would I find the regulation for all of this so I can double check we are doing everything by the book Thanks Holly Mayne

We stock Fire Protection coatings for many different applications and substrates inlcuding Steel and Timber. In order to ascertain what level of protection you need on any of your areas you should refer to your authority on the project which is often your local Building Control.

Depending on the level of Fire Protection you require for the steel, one of the Zeroflame Aquasteel Systems may be suitable for you.

For the timber ceiling joists we would need to know the following to be able to advise;

  • Size of section (width and height)
  • Length of section
  • Number of sections
  • Level of Fire Protection required (Class 1, Class 0, 30min, 60min, etc.)
  • Type of timber (i.e. pine, oak, CLT, etc.)
  • Clear or coloured coating required?
  • Bare or previously coated?

Our Technical Team can be contacted on 0113 2455450 (option 2) or [email protected] to assist with a specification.
