Hi my celling is 2 layers of fireboard plasterboard and my architect has told me that if I was to pierce the board (which I intend to do) I would need an incandescent collar for the cable petruding out the plasterboard, for example the cable for a standard light fitting or the cable for a mains smoke alarm do any of your products apply to this? Also I will be pricing a hole for my duct work for the extractor fan also. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks Jamie
As long as the gap between the cable and the plasterboard is no bigger than 10mm you could use Protecta FR Putty Cord or if the gap is between 10-30mm you can use Protecta FR Acrylic 4hr Intumescent Sealant, both will give at least 60min integrity and insulation.
