I have a flat in London that is caught up in the cladding issue that has been raised recently. The flat has larch cladding and a recent inspection and assessment suggests use of intumescent paint. Can you please advise me what would be the best treatment for this to bring the wood up to EUR 0 standard? What is the approx material cost per sq metre and how often does it need to be reapplied? From this perspective what paint requires the least frequent applications? Obviously I am only one leaseholder in a block with about 140 flats and do not have a say in which treatment to use, but we may be able to apply pressure in this situation. Thank you
Assuming the timber is bare, clean, dry and sound we can recommend Zeroflame Fire Retardant Treatment.
This is a clear product and lasts for the lifetime of the substrate.
The coverage rate on standard timber is 3.7m² per 1ltr, so a 5ltr will cover 18.5m²
