Need Help?

I want to paint a varnished wood panelled ceiling white. As it is in a kitchen it has been suggested by a friend I should use fire resistant paint. Is there a system I can apply over varnish but also changing the colour to white. Thank you.

We do have fire protection products for painting timber to differing levels of fire protection.

As to if the ceiling requires fire protection and to what level we could not advise on, we would recommend consulting building control on this matter.

Assuming no level of fire protection is required, the previously varnished timber is clean, dry, sound and prepard as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Zinsser B-I-N followed by Zinsser Perma-White Interior.

This is available in many RAL and BS colours in a matt or satin finish.

This is a scrubbable paint suitable for high humidity areas, but does not provide a level of fire protection
