Hi, We have an open brick fireplace and want to paint the walls inside the hole but want to make it safe. It was painted rdd by previous owners but we want to change colour. Can we use a standard paint then cover with fire resistant varnish? It's a solid brick wall we wish to paint. Thanks in advance. Emma
