Hello; I am a 97 year old gentleman living here in Essex. As a hobby I would like to paint used horse shoes----I have already accumulated quiet a number but they as rusty as hell. Beyond a primary wire brushing is there a paint that I can apply that would prevent the rust re-surfacing or even going on top of the existing condition.
Assuming the horse shoes are steel, we would recommend that all the rust is removed prior to application.
Assuming this is done, they are bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Rust-Oleum 3369/3380 CombiPrimer Anti-Corrosion followed by 2 coats of Rust-Oleum CombiColor Original.
This can be mixed in many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a satin or gloss finish.
