Need Help?

Hi. I'm looking for a spray paint which will protect my outside cast iron soil pipe. I'm looking for a UV resistant paint and preferably with a satin type finish. I've used hammerite in the past but it just doesn't seem to last and after 3 years of south facing weather it turns grey/white. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Assuming by spray paint you mean and aerosol, we would not recommend an aerosol for this application as the film build will be thin.

For a longer life option application by brush roller or airless spray would be prefered.

Assuming the cast iron pipe is bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Rust-Oleum 3369/3380 CombiPrimer Anti-Corrosion followed by two coats of Rust-Oleum CombiColor Original.

This is available in many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a satin or gloss finish.
