Hi Looking to paint some MDF shelves to go in kitchen cupboards - do these need to be done in a food grade paint? If so can you recommend a suitable product for this?

Unfortunately we do not have a food grade paint to recommend for this application.

If a standard paint could be used you could, assuming the mdf is bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet you could consider Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 followed by Zinsser AllCoat Exterior (Water Based).

This can be mixed to many RAL, NCS or BS Colours in a matt, satin or gloss finish.
