I want to re paint the wood fireplace surround of my log burner stove. Installed 12 years ago to HETAS standard for which I have installers certificates relating to separation distances. Present colour is dark brown and would like to change to much paler shade of brown. Please recommend type of paint to use.
Unfortunately we do not product for application to timber that is heat resistant, but assuming the area to be painted is not exposed to elevated temperatures you could consider Zinsser AllCoat Exterior (Water Based).
The previously applied paint would need to be clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet prior application.
This can be mixed to many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a matt, satin or gloss finish.
