Need Help?

I would like to find a paint that I can use to paint over damp patches on the paintwork on my chimney breast. The problem with the chimney is fixed but the hygroscopic salts are preventing the patches from drying out. Can I just paint over them with a paint that will be waterproof? Thanks

Assuming the wall is not saturated, we would suggest to wipe down the wall to remove any salts that have come through and also make sure there is no loose or flaking material.

Then you could apply Coo-Var Anti-Damp Paint to the damp wall.

This can then be over painted if required.
