What is the lowest temperature that teamac anti-slip deck paint can be applied at and is it possible to see a sample of green to check the colour and finish? Also what is the recommended procedure to apply the paint to a fibreglass sheathed marine plywood deck on a boat which has existing paint? I have scraped all loose and flaking paint off and prepared the surface by sanding with a medium grit but I do not want to remove the existing paint completely because I do not want to damage the sheathing, which is quite thin.
The minimum temperature for application and curing would be 5 Degrees Celsius.
The preparation for the fibre glass sheathed marine plywood is correct, as long as the previous coating is stable, it is cleaned, degreased and all contaminants removed.
Any bare areas and joints in the wood should be spor primed if needed and make sure there is no underlying damage, then this is okay for it to be painted.
Just taking into consideration the current temperatures and moisture in the air at the moment, it is best to wait until the spring time.
