What paint would you recommend for painting the deck of our metal balcony. Obviously outdoors and exposed to the elements. It is a solid sheet metal, with an anti slip pattern, some 40 years old. It was primed and painted with a black paint, but this is peeling and there is lots of hidden rust. Also want would you recommend to remove the old paint, and any recommended primers etc.

Assuming the previously applied paint along with rust is removed back to bare prepared steel, it is clean, dry, sound we can recommend Teamac High Performance 2 Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer. followed by Coo-Var ProGrip Heavy Duty Two-Pack Anti-Slip Floor Paint for an anti-slip finish.

This is available in many RAL, NCS or BS colours in an off gloss finish.

To remove the previously applied paint we would recommend blasting or removing with mechanical preparation.
