Description
High-Performance Fire-Resistant Adhesive
Protecta FR Adhesive is a single-pack, water-based fire-resistant adhesive that provides excellent adhesion and withstands extreme temperatures up to 1,200°C. Designed for bonding mineral fibre boards, sealing joints in heating systems, and repairing high-temperature surfaces, it ensures a permanent and durable hold.
Where It Can Be Used
- Bonding mineral fibre boards to steel, timber, and concrete for enhanced fire protection.
- Sealing joints in stoves, flues, grates, and central heating boilers.
- Sealing annular gaps around high-temperature pipes.
- Repairing cracks and holes in exhaust systems to prevent gas and noise leaks.

Why Use Protecta FR Adhesive?
With a high bond strength and instant grab, Protecta FR Adhesive eliminates the need for additional support during application. It forms a gas-tight seal when cured, ensuring long-lasting durability even in extreme heat conditions. The adhesive is shock and vibration-resistant, making it suitable for environments with movement or thermal expansion.
Application and Curing
- Apply to clean, dry, and dust-free surfaces for optimal adhesion.
- Can be used with a trowel, cartridge gun, or spreader for even distribution.
- Fast setting – tack-free within 1 hour, good bond in 4 hours, full cure in 48 hours.
- Heat exposure accelerates curing, forming a hard, durable finish.
Limitations
- Not suitable for substrates that release oils, plasticisers, or solvents.
- Not intended for food or medical applications.
- Should not be exposed to sub-zero temperatures before setting.
- Cannot be directly exposed to water or moisture during curing.
