Matt Finish
Choose a matt finish for a modern flat, non-reflective appearance that won't highlight surface imperfections - dents, scratches and gouges - as much as other paints. Use a matt finish if you are after a consistent and "solid" look for a surface, such as interior walls or cabinets, or as a wood oil finish.

Satin Finish
This popular finish generally sits between matt and gloss sheen levels, though how strongly will depend on the product used. A satin finish is usually desired over gloss for a more subtle sheen; satin finishes are more reflective than matt paints but not as shiny as gloss.
A satin finish is available for most interior and exterior surfaces including walls, wood, metal and uPVC such as doors, trims and windows, skirting boards, kitchen cupboards, floors (as a wood oil finish too), fences and much more, where the project requires a satin finish.
Gloss Finish
Choose gloss for a high-sheen finish on surfaces and items, making them appear well polished and shiny.
A highly reflective gloss finish is ideal for making spaces appear larger than they really are with the use of light, which can help draw customers into desired areas of a shop or showroom for example.
Depending on the product used, gloss paints can be easier to clean than other paints and finishes. A gloss finish is available for all kinds of surfaces and projects, from doors and trims, windows and sills, skirting boards etc to cladding panels, railings, garage doors and more, where a shiny and highly-reflective gloss finish is required.
Semi-Gloss Finish
Semi-gloss finishes are less reflective than full gloss and can appear similar to satin and eggshell finishes. Depending on the product used, a semi-gloss paint may be more durable to knocks and scuffs as well as being easier to clean.

Chalkwash Finish

Metallic Finish
Not all that glitters is gold, and this can be the same for wood, metal, ceramics and most plastics around the home and workplace. Choose a metallic finish and upgrade existing surfaces with a luxurious metal glint, such as:
- Flourishes on the tops of metal gates and railings.

- Ornaments.

Textured Finish
Co-ordinate with existing rough surface textures by choosing a textured finish for your painting project.
Providing a rough appearance to surfaces, textured finishes are ideal for exterior painting projects like walls, facades and render on buildings such as homes and offices, or around gardens and open public spaces. Textured finishes can, depending on the product, have options for fine or heavy texturing.
Textured options may also be available for hobbycraft paints to make objects appear stone-like, such as plastics and ceramics.
Smooth Finish
Smooth paint finishes are ideal for a clean and solid appearance without textures or hammered effects. Often found for metal paints, a smooth finish provides a slick look on machinery, tools etc, or as masonry paints for exterior walls, facades, render and plaster on homes, office buildings, and schools.
Aggregated Finish
Aggregated finishes are ideal for use in non-slip applications (anti slip floor finish) to help prevent slips and skids, reducing accidents and improving safety for staff, patrons and visitors. Such applications may include:
- Steps and ramps - ensure a firm footing when moving up or down steps or stairs, especially those in exposed areas where they can become wet or iced over.
- Inclined floors - where floors raise or fall in height over an extended length, extra grip will be needed to prevent slippage when walking or pushing/pulling equipment.
- Entrance floors - halls near front doors and reception areas will become wet when people enter a building with drenched clothes, umbrellas, shoes walking in water etc.
- Around machinery - chemicals including oils, petrol and cleaning solvents can cause floors to become slippery around machines on factory floors, in workshops and warehouses.
Hammered Finish
Most metal surfaces including (but not limited to) aluminium, stainless steel, galvanised steel, cast iron, etc, can be coated with a hammered finish. These are ideal for use on machinery, gates and railings, tool boxes, cast metal parts and more, leaving a finish that appears pitted or to have been hammered by hand tools.
Silk Finish
Silk finishes are often found for emulsions for interior walls and paints for woodwork and trim/joinery. Sometimes considered more wipeable than matt finishes (depending on which product you use), the slight sheen of a silk finish will show up imperfections on surfaces like dents, bumps and lumps.

Ideal where surfaces require regular cleaning for hygiene reasons including hospitals, GP clinics, pharmacies, leisure centres and care homes. Paints with an easy clean finish facilitate regular cleaning regimes and allow scuffs, marks and stains to be removed quickly and easily without repainting the area.
