Dual-action paint that doesn't compromise on finish duality!

Bacteria are living organisms with soft protective membranes which enable the living cores to thrive, multiply and colonise on surfaces outside of a body. Once inside us, their membranes protect them from our antibodies long enough to infect our lungs.

Although most Viruses rely on a living "host" to reproduce and survive, Coronaviruses, Influenza and other "envelope" viruses have a "shell" that protects their living cores enough to both survive outside of a body and shield them from our antibodies once inside us. Unless damaged, their spikes can penetrate.

Bacteria and Shell Viruses can lurk on surfaces waiting to be picked up by hand contact and breathed in when we bring our hands near our faces.

Fortunately, their membranes, spikes and shells are vulnerable to direct contact from surfaces of walls they contaminated if a wall has enhanced heat reflection created most effectively by solid silver particles. The effect is enhanced if the silver is encased in glass as nano-particles distributed through the paint film when mixed for permanent protection. This is unaffected by the leaching processes which can diminish further the limited effect of silver nitrate and chlorine biocides.

How It Works

Vira-Protect Anti-Viral and Anti-Bacterial polyurethane hardened acrylic “cross-links” during the drying process to form a smoother, harder, more cleanable surface than typical wall paints and help eliminate the microscopic pockets that host bacteria which prevent effective cleaning.

A unique concentrated mix of safe, biocidal metal encapsulated nano-particles attacks viruses and bacteria that settle on surfaces, damaging their protective “envelope” (shell) preventing them causing infection and resulting in the death of their live cores.

Composition

Catalytic and safe vapour-emission compounds, nano-particle encapsulation- enhanced biocidal metals, water-based polyurethane hardened cross-linking acrylic

VOC Content

Low VOC EU limit for this product (cat A/i) is 140g/l. This product contains 20 g/l.

Preparation

• Prior to other preparation, treat mould with proprietary mould inhibitor
• Seal stubborn penetrating stains with Coo-Var Prime-All (shellac-free version) as per manufacturer's instructions
• Surfaces must be clean and fully hard dry
• Abrade hard or smooth surfaces to give a good key
• Stir well before use

Application

• Do not apply in temperatures under 8°C or above 30°C
  
  • Maximum relative Humidity below 75%
  • Surface should be at least 3°C above the dew point
• Use woven short pile roller sleeve or synthetic brush - or, for spraying:
  • Pressure Pot and Gun conventional with hand-portable compressor
  • Thin 5% water OR Airless Graco 1500, 3500 or equivalent. 3/8” line, 30 mesh filter on machine, no filter in gun
  • 521, 523, 621 or 623 tips
  • Ensure coverage is applied as per can (i.e 25m² can covers 25m²)
• Apply 1 full coat of Vira-Protect Matt or Eggshell over pastel or similar colours
• Apply 2nd coat over darker, heavily contrasting or vivid colours and over textured surfaces

Cleaning

Return as much unused material to its original container as possible. Wash brushes, rollers and guns with clean water immediately following use.
