Coverage

  • Expected spreading rate of 11m²/litre at 30 microns dry film thickness.
  • The practical spreading rate may be lower as this depends on factors such as the porosity and roughness of the surface to be painted and material losses during application

Surface Preparation

  • All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants
  • Concrete - power floated, granolithic and smooth surfaces should be roughened first to provide a good "key" for the paint
  • This can be done mechanically by abrading or blasting, or chemically using Acid Etch
  • These processes will have the advantage in addition to preparing the surface of also removing dirt and laitance
  • New concrete must be allowed to cure thoroughly which can take up to 3 months
  • Other surfaces must be prepared and primed with the suitable primer for that substrate
  • Existing painted surfaces - Surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced
  • Remove all loose and flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate and prepare accordingly

Mixing:

  • Mix well before use

Priming:

  • Apply direct to wood, suitable metals primer on metal, Acrylic Floor Paint thinned 5% with clean water on all other unpainted surfaces

Application

  • As dictated by normal good painting practice
  • Do not apply if the temperature is likely to drop below 7 °C during application or during the drying process
  • In confined spaces, provide adequate ventilation during application and drying

Cleaning

  • Water

Question:

Can this paint be sprayed using an airless sprayer.....we have a wagner 350m thanks

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

This product can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray.

It can be thinned to a maximum of 5% with clean water to aid application.

We would recommend consulting the spray equipment manufacturer regarding suitability of the spray equipment for this application.

Question:

Looking to buy 400 units Rawlins 313 Low Odour - can you improve the rates if we place a MOQ of 20 units per order? We are about to start a new contract in a food factory and this product looks to be suitable.

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

We have sent a quote on email to your email address for this

Question: I have a tarmac floored car port that is been turned into an enclosed garage/workshop.The floor had some largish voids in the tarmac,is it ok to still use the 313 Acrylic floor paint or do i have to find a leveling compound to make the floor smooth?
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

The floor will need to be made good before any coating is applied to it. We would suggest any repairs are made with something like Rust-Oleum 5410 Asphalt Repair and then the floor can be coated with something like Rust-Oleum Tarmacoat.

Question: I want a paint for my garage floor that will be OK with trolley jacks and axel stands as well as being impervious to petrol oil and possibly brake fluid. Do you have a paint that will do the job?
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Yes, we would recommend 303 Epoxy Floor Paint.
