Surface Preparation
Mould Free Surfaces: must be clean, dry, sound and free of dirt, dust, grease, wax, wallcovering adhesive, soap film, loose paint or other surface contamination. Wash surfaces with a degreaser & cleaner and rinse thoroughly.
Mould Contaminated Surfaces: Remove all existing mould and mildew before painting. Ensure surfaces are completely dry before painting with a maximum moisture content of 5%. If you are concerned about mould and mildew behind walls, underneath flooring, in ventilation systems or other unseen areas, contact a professional who specializes in mould and mildew remediation.
For commercial buildings and schools follow appropriate guidelines for mould removal. Check for satisfactory paint adhesion. For more information contact our Technical Team.
Application
Shake or stir well before using. Apply with synthetic bristle brush, short pile roller or mohair roller sleeve. For airless spraying, use a .017 tip and high medium (2000- 2600 PSI) pressure. Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 10°and 32°C and humidity is less than 80%.
Zero-Mould is designed to be used as is. If thinning is necessary (such as with conventional sprayer applications), use only water and no more than 10% by volume.
Drying & Cleaning
Dries in 30 minutes. Apply a second coat after 4 hours. If used above tile on shower walls, wait at least 24 hours before using the shower. Do not scrub the new coating for seven days.
Clean up spills and drips immediately with warm water and liquid detergent. Wash application tools in warm, soapy water immediately after use. If product has dried on application tool, soak it overnight in a solution of equal parts household ammonia and water. Follow manufacturer’s instructions when cleaning spray equipment. Use brush cleaner to remove dried paint from brushes.
Limitations
Zero-Mould is not intended for application to floors or any surface subject to water immersion or prolonged contact with water including shower enclosures, saunas or steam rooms. Not recommended for use in HVAC duct work.

Sandy Ince on 2024-05-17 09:39:47 | Question:
Hallo - re Protection Paint Zero Mould- can or should this paint have an ordinary paint under or on top? or do its anti mould qualities not work as well if another paint is also used? Our painter has said he will need an ordinary paint layer as well but it looks to me that Zero Mould Protection Paint should be applied in two layers on its own. Also- do you have this in Magnolia? Many thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product can be applied over previously applied paints assuming they are clean, dry, sound and prepared. We would recommend to test on a small area for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application. But this product is not designed to be then over painted. This can be mixed to many RAL, NCS or BS colours. | |
