- Grey polymer-modified cement-based product designed to prepare surfaces for render applications.
- For dense concrete, brick, blockwork and masonry.
- Equalises suction across mixed backgrounds.
- Excellent resistance to water penetration.
Weber Weberend AID
This single-pack polymer-modified product is formulated for use as a key coat to improve the adhesion of renders on a variety of surfaces. By equalising suction across substrates, it creates an ideal base for further render application. Available in grey, it offers excellent suction control and enhances the performance of rendering systems by resisting water penetration.
Application Areas
This product is suitable for use on dense concrete, brickwork, blockwork, and masonry, as well as clean, sound, and well-adhered existing render. However, it should not be applied to gypsum plaster or previously painted surfaces. For areas that require sulphate resistance, a sulphate-resistant cement formulation should be used.
Application Process
- Surfaces must be clean, sound, and free from dust or materials that could affect adhesion.
- Apply using a hawk and trowel or roller, and create a deep stipple texture to ensure optimal key for render.
- Allow 2-3 days for curing before applying subsequent coats.
- Avoid application in temperatures below 5°C or above 30°C, in damp or wet conditions, or if frost is forecast within 24 hours.
Preparation and Mixing
Mix three parts of the product with one part clean water to achieve a workable consistency. Leave the mixture to stand for five minutes, then re-mix before application. Do not use if temperatures are unsuitable or in direct sunlight where the substrate is hot.
Cleaning and Storage
Clean equipment immediately after use with water. Do not dispose of waste material in drainage systems. The product can be stored for up to 12 months in unopened, original packaging, in dry conditions at temperatures above 5°C.
Limitations
Do not apply this product on substrates such as gypsum plaster or painted surfaces. Always follow the guidelines for surface preparation and conditions of use to ensure the best results. For further details, refer to the downloadable technical data sheet for this product.
Health and Safety
This product contains cement and may produce an allergic reaction. It is harmful by inhalation and can cause irritation to the skin and eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. For more information, consult the MSDS.
