Description
Jotun MegaSealer
A two-component vinyl epoxy coating formulated to act as an essential intermediary between epoxy primers and antifouling systems. Its robust formulation ensures exceptional adhesion and durability, especially in immersed environments.
Applications
- Effective for submerged applications, such as marine and offshore use.
- Ideal for aluminium, carbon steel, composite, and wooden surfaces.
- Recommended as a tie coat for Jotun antifouling products.
Application Guidance
- Methods: Apply using airless spray for optimal results. For smaller areas, brushes or rollers may be used with care to maintain the specified dry film thickness.
- Mixing Ratio: Combine 5 parts Component A with 1 part Component B by volume.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, free of contaminants, and adequately prepared. Aged coatings or antifouling layers must be thoroughly cleaned or replaced.
- Curing: The product cures within 2–14 days, depending on temperature, ensuring readiness for its intended environment.
Performance Attributes
- Withstands sub-zero application temperatures.
- Offers excellent adhesion across a range of substrates.
- Provides a semi-gloss finish resistant to wear in demanding conditions.
Limitations
- Do not use on surfaces without appropriate primers.
- Avoid using in unventilated or enclosed spaces without appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Not recommended for direct exposure to sunlight without additional topcoats due to potential chalking.
