Questions
Question about the product
Peter on 2024-08-12 15:04:49 | Question:
Does this product work on rendedred and painted walls? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product is suitable for application to bare exterior masonry substrates, so any areas of bare render it could be applied, but not any existing painted areas.
Duncan on 2023-11-08 17:07:57 | Question:
How dry does the surface need to be prior to application? Damp has already penetrated the stone and I have signs of this on the internal walls. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
For application of this product, you will need a clean, sound and extremely dry substrate. Any moisture build up in the substrate will stop the penetration of the product working as well as it should. Any areas of organic growth should be treated with Wethertex C10 Fungicidal Wash in accordance with the manufacturers instructions prior to application. Assuming the internal walls are of plaster, cement or stone, taken back to a bare substrate and prepared in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, Coo-Var Anti-Damp paint could be used on the internal walls, with 2 coats required. This product can be wallpapered over and painted over with a suitable topcoat if required.
Nick on 2022-12-01 00:24:28 | Question:
Can this product be used on sandstone walls prior to being rendered? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No we would not recommend this to be applied before walls are rendered, it may effect adhesion of the render.
Charlie on 2022-11-08 17:24:11 | Question:
It looks like I should have done the job during the summer!!! Too late for 2022. Can you recommend a budget\ cheap airsprayer please. I appreciate that you may be reluctant to share it on the web site. I would appreciate it if you can email me. I've looked at Amazon and Ebay and don't want to get the wrong thing. Thanks Charle |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Unfortunately we do not stock spray equipment, we would recommend seeking advise of a spray equipment supplier.
Francis on 2022-01-20 16:23:38 | Question:
Probably a silly question, but as I have some spare, could I use this to waterproof my goretex Boots, Tents, or other fabrics? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Unfortunarely not, this product is not designed for application to anything other than concrete, brick, stone or render.
Ross on 2021-08-07 17:01:17 | Question:
Can you paint over weathertex? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
We do not recommend applying this product then overpainting. But if Wethertex WB1 WeatherBLOCKER has been previously applied, aged and weathered it can be over painted. We would recommend testing for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application.
Sean on 2021-05-16 01:25:35 | Question:
Can weather blocker be used on existing masonry paint |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No this is for application to bare substrates.
LAURENCE on 2021-05-15 09:21:34 | Question:
Hi will moss grow on weatherblock once applied |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This is a penetrative treatment so moss growth is still possible on the brick substrate. Prior to application the substrate should be power washed and treated with Wethertex C10 Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash to remove any organic growth.
GARY on 2020-12-20 15:32:55 | Question:

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Yes Wethertex WeatherBLOCKER! is breathable
