2-Component Epoxy Coating

Engineered for demanding industrial and agricultural applications, offering superior adhesion, crack-bridging, and resistance to chemicals. It is suitable for use on concrete, steel, and galvanised steel, providing durable protection in biogas plants, silos, and storage tanks.

Applications and Compatibility

Ideal for protecting reinforced concrete tanks, steel structures, and galvanised steel surfaces. Commonly used in industrial and agricultural settings, including liquid manure tanks, silage facilities, and biogas installations. Can be applied with an epoxy roller, brush, or airless sprayer. When using airless spraying, up to 20% of Thinner V 103 may be added for optimal viscosity.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be firm, load-bearing, and free of contaminants. The adhesive pull strength should be at least 1.5 N/mm², with a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm². Steel surfaces must be prepared by sandblasting (SA 2 1/2) to remove rust and rolling skin. Concrete should have a maximum moisture content of 4% before application.

Mixing and Application

• Mixing ratio: 75:25 (A:B) by weight.
• Mix for at least 3 minutes using a slow-speed electric mixer (300-400 rpm).
• Apply within 60 minutes at +20°C to avoid material setting in the container.
• Minimum application temperature: +10°C; maximum: +25°C.
• After application, protect the coating from moisture for at least 48 hours.

Drying and Curing

• Foot traffic possible after 12 hours at +20°C.
• Mechanical loads after 2 days.
• Full chemical resistance achieved after 7 days.

Limitations and Restrictions

• Not suitable for surfaces exposed to constant thermal loads exceeding 60°C.
• Maximum application thickness per coat: 0.40 kg/m².
• Not suitable for vehicle traffic with metal or polyamide tyres.
• UV exposure may cause minor discolouration over time.

This product contains epoxy resin and solvents. It may cause skin and eye irritation and can trigger allergic skin reactions. Use personal protective equipment, including gloves, goggles, and respiratory protection when spraying. Keep away from heat and open flames. Classified as flammable (UN1263).
