Teamac Marine Satin Finish
The marine satin finish paint is a traditional, single-pack modified long oil alkyd coating designed for use in marine environments. Reduces glare and reflection, making it perfect for applications on boat roofs and other surfaces where visibility is crucial. The paint is formulated to resist oil and water, ensuring long-lasting protection in the challenging conditions often encountered at sea.
Applications
This product can be applied to various substrates including GRP, iron, steel, and wood. It is particularly suited for use on boat roofs, providing a durable, low-reflection finish that enhances both the appearance and functionality of marine vessels. The paint can be applied directly to prepared surfaces or over a suitable primer, depending on the material.
Application Instructions
Before application, ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. For best results, prime iron and steel surfaces with Teamac Zinc Phosphate Metal Primer, and wood surfaces with Teamac Penetrating Wood Primer. The paint can be applied using a brush or roller, with an expected spreading rate of approximately 13 square metres per litre. It is essential to mix the paint thoroughly before use. The recommended drying time is 12 hours or overnight, with full hardness achieved in 5 to 7 days under optimal conditions.
Restrictions and Limitations
This product should not be applied in conditions where the temperature is below the dew point or in confined spaces without adequate ventilation. Avoid using the paint on surfaces that will be in constant contact with water, as it may affect durability. The product should not be exposed to high humidity during application as this can adversely affect drying times and overall performance.
Additional Recommendations
For enhanced protection on metal surfaces, it is recommended to use a primer before applying the marine satin finish. Always refer to the downloadable data sheet for comprehensive application guidelines and product compatibility information.
