Description
Fire Protection for Socket Boxes
Protecta FR Graphite Plate is a high-performance fire protection solution designed to reinstate the fire resistance of flexible wall constructions when punctured by socket boxes. This self-adhesive intumescent plate expands rapidly under heat, sealing gaps within socket enclosures and electrical conduits to prevent fire from spreading through partition walls.
Where It Can Be Used
- Flexible walls with a minimum thickness of 75mm.
- Walls fitted with socket boxes, either single or back-to-back.
- Walls with insulated and uninsulated constructions.
- Installations involving conduits and cables interconnected between socket boxes.
Performance and Compliance
- Up to 120 minutes of integrity and insulation fire resistance.
- CE-marked for Europe and tested to EN 1366-3 and EN 13501-2.
- Validated at WarringtonFire (UKAS accredited).
- Maintains wall classification under fire exposure.
Installation and Application
- Socket boxes should be installed following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Ensure surfaces are clean and free from dirt, grease, or other contaminants before applying.
- Remove the backing paper and press the plate firmly inside the base of the socket box.
- Plates must not obstruct cable entry.
- For maximum performance, gaps around the socket box should be sealed with plaster filler or Protecta FR Acrylic.
Restrictions and Limitations
- Restricted to professional users; not for consumer use.
- Not suitable for walls below 75mm thickness.
- Must be installed according to technical guidance for full certification validity.
