Description

Tikkurila Temal 600 is a heat resistant silicone aluminium paint which resists dry heat up to +650°C. The paint is used in cases demanding heat-resistant products such as fireplace doors, flues, exhaust pipes, sauna stoves.

Temal 600 can be applied directly on steel surfaces without any primer.

Storage Conditions: Store away from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials. Keep container tightly closed. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabeled containers. Recommended storage temperature is +5°C ...+25°C

Surface Preparation


  • Oil, grease, salts and dirt are removed by appropriate means. (ISO 12944-4)
  • Steel surfaces: Blast clean to grade Sa2½. (ISO 8501-1) If blast cleaning is not possible, phosphating is recommended for cold rolled steel to improve adhesion.
  • Zinc silicate surfaces: Oil, grease, salt and dirt are removed from the surface by appropriate means. Repair any damage to the primer coat. Note the overcoating time of primer. (ISO 12944-4)



Application Conditions


  • All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contamination.
  • The temperature of the ambient air, surface and paint should not fall below +10ºC during application and drying.
  • Relative humidity of the air should not exceed 80% during application and drying.
  • The surface temperature of steel should remain at least 3°C above the dew point.
  • Good ventilation and sufficient air movement is required in confined areas during application and drying.



Application


  • For conventional spraying, the product is thinned 0–10%. Recommended nozzle tip is 1.2–1.4 mm and pressure 3–4 bar.
  • For brush application the product should be thinned according to the circumstances.

  • The Volatile Organic Compounds amount of the paint mixture is 660 g/litre of paint.
  • VOC of the paint (thinned 10% by volume) is 680 g/l.
