Axalta Stormcote Stabilising Sealer is a solvent based pigmented sealer for masonry.

  • Ideal for stabilising and bonding interior and exterior masonry and cement surfaces prior to the application of masonry paint or other similar coatings
  • Reduces porosity and provides a well- bound base with excellent alkali resistance

Description

Axalta Stormcote Stabilising Sealer is a solvent based pigmented sealer for masonry.

 

Approvals

  • Conforms to Category (h) of 2004/42/EC which carries a VOC limit of 750 g/lt
  • This coating has not been tested to the standard of the new regulation 7(2) of the Building Regulations 2010, which came into force in Dec 2018

  • Drying and recoating times are related to the film thickness, temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation



Surface Preparation


  • Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from all grease, oil, loose material and general contamination
  • Unsound surfaces should be scraped back to firm edge
  • If algal or fungal contamination is present, wash with a bleach solution (observing necessary safety precautions)



Application Methods


Product Information
Mixing: Must be mixed thoroughly before use. Agitate periodically to ensure paint remains homogeneous
Thinner: Do not thin
Cleaner: Axalta Thinner TH400 (formerly called No.3 Thinner)
Application Tools: Airless Spray Conventional Spray Brush Roller

  • Do not apply to damp or frosted surfaces
  • One full coat should suffice for most applications, but a second may be applied in cases of severe porosity



Application Conditions


  • Only apply in conditions of good ventilation which must be maintained during drying and curing.
  • Do not apply when rain, mist, sleet, or snow are imminent
  • During application and drying time of the paint coating, the surface should be dry, the Relative Humidity should not exceed 85% and the surface temperature should remain at least 3°C above the dew point
  • Paint temperature should ideally be at a minimum of 15ºC
