Norseal Pyroplex Timber Door Fire Seals With Pile provide a traditional fire, smoke and acoustic seal for fire rated timber door edges and frames. The range includes a selection of sizes including the wider more traditional solutions. They are suitable for rebates in single and double action, single or double doors. Pyroplex Rigid Box Seals are ideal for new build applications.

Norseal Pyroplex Timber Door Fire Seals With Pile are supplied in 2.1m lengths as standard, and are quick and easy to fit with no special tools required. The Pile range provides fire, smoke and acoustic seals which have been tested to BS 476: Part 22, BS EN 1634-3: 2004 and BS EN ISO 10140-2: 2010.

Installation Instructions

1. Select the appropriate seal using the door test evidence, which will identify the size intumescent seal required
2. The seal needs to be located centrally in either the door leaf or frame
3. Route a groove suitable for the size of intumescent seal selected. Clean the rebate to remove any dust. Remove the self-adhesive backing liner from the product and push fit into the routed groove
4. To achieve excellent adhesion seals must be applied to clean, dry surfaces at temperatures between 5°C and 40°C

• 154FS - 15 mm x 4 mm x 2100 mm - up to 30 minutes fire resistance
• 204FS - 20 mm x 4 mm x 2100 mm - up to 60 minutes fire resistance
• 254FS* - 25 mm x 4 mm x 2100 mm - up to 60 minutes fire resistance

Pyroplex Limited has a Quality Management System that meets the requirements of ISO 9001, and is independently verified by BSI Quality Assurance under Certificate No. FM10371. Copies of this approval are available on request by contacting our technical team.

The Pyroplex Pile range of Rigid Box Seals have been extensively tested in the UK, Europe and worldwide, to national and international standards. Compliant with the requirements given in Certifire TS35 and TS21 – Certifire No. CF355.

Chemical composition: The active element is high-pressure forming, multi-directional expandable graphite contained within a high performance durable polymer.

Outer container: 0.5mm PVC-u outer casing, which has a proven performance in terms of durability, along with a high performance acrylic adhesive to aid installation.

Life cycle: 10 years, providing the seal is installed in accordance with the requirements given in these guidance notes.

Maintenance & Installation records

As this product is not subject to routine and replacement programmes, Pyroplex Limited recommend that all firestopping materials are checked regularly to ensure that the product remains integral. Replace and fit any damaged components to reinstate the fire resistance or smoke sealing performance.

Product Guarantee & Traceability

Providing the product is installed in accordance with the requirements of the guidance document the product is guaranteed for a period of 10 years. All Pyroplex products are identified with a unique reference number for traceability purposes.
