Teamac Galley Paint
This product is a single-component matt paint specifically designed to combat condensation in enclosed interior spaces such as galleys, cabins, and other similar areas on yachts, cruisers, and narrowboats. Its carefully formulated matt finish not only reduces moisture accumulation but also serves as an ideal base for further decoration. The white paint can be overcoated with other products to achieve the desired colour and finish, enhancing both the functionality and the appearance of the treated areas.
Application and Surface Preparation
Before applying this paint, it is essential to ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants like grease or loose materials. Any glossy areas should be abraded using abrasive paper to promote adhesion. For surfaces with mould or lichen, a proprietary mould remover should be applied, followed by thorough cleaning with a scraper or stiff brush. Bare metal surfaces must be primed with Teamac Marine Primer Undercoat for optimal results.
- Do not apply the paint below 10°C, as low temperatures can affect drying and performance.
- Ensure adequate ventilation during application, particularly in confined spaces.
- Stir the paint thoroughly before use due to its naturally thick consistency.
Recommended Use
This product is recommended for use in areas where condensation is a concern, such as yacht and boat interiors. Its anti-condensation properties make it ideal for galleys, cabins, heads, and ceilings. However, it should not be used on exterior surfaces or in areas exposed to direct moisture without appropriate overcoating.
While the paint is versatile, always adhere to the application instructions and avoid using it in temperatures below 10°C. In addition, it is important to use suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) during application, such as gloves and eye protection, to avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Additional Recommendations
For a complete finish, it is advisable to apply two full coats of this paint. If a different colour or further protection is required, consider overpainting with compatible products. Always refer to the manufacturer's data sheet for detailed guidance and additional recommendations tailored to specific situations or conditions.
Health and Safety
This product is non-hazardous under normal conditions of use. Maximum VOC content is 29 g/litre. It is important to avoid inhalation of vapours and to use the paint only in well-ventilated areas.
