Questions
Question about the product
johann on 2024-07-18 14:03:47 | Question:
is this product suitable to be used on a costal front property |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the substrate is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical datasheet, this product is suitable for application in coastal areas. If applying over an existing coating, we'd recommend to apply a test area firstly to check for compatibility and adhesion, prior to coating the full surface.
Andrew Carnell on 2022-07-19 09:57:53 | Question:
Can this product be used over existing sand and cement render to smooth over sponge marks left by plasterer |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This is a trowel applied thin coat render, this is not designed to hide imperfections in the substrate, the depth of these marks will depend if it will mask these, but we would recommend they should be addressed prior to application.
John chalcraft on 2022-06-27 11:53:48 | Question:
What coverage do I get from 25kg of the thin coat render . Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
The coverage rate for 25kg is approximately 10m².
David on 2021-10-27 13:49:04 | Question:
Can this be used to repair old, cracked render on an exterior chimney stack to make it watertight? Water ingress seems to be coming through the mortar in the bricks underneath the render and penetrating into the plaster in the loft. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product can be applied to compatible substrates once the necessary repairs to the cracked render have taken place. Loose or flaking material must be removed, cracks repaired then Wethertex X71 1 Polymer Levelling Base Coat should be applied to reinforce and waterproof the repairs prior to application. This a waterproof system but it will not rectify any structural issue that is causing the water ingress.
EILEEN MURPHY on 2021-08-18 16:55:27 | Question:
AN i USE IT BELOW THE dpc COURSE TO COVER BADLY SCARRED BRICK FACE? THANKS EILEEN |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No, to avoid dampness and discolouration rendering should be avoided below DPC or within 150mm of ground level.
