Hensel Hensotherm 820 KS is a thin-film water-based fire protection coating for interior concrete. It improves the fire-resistance time of pre-stressed concrete hollow ceilings up to 120 minutes, reinforced concrete beams and supports up to 150 minutes, and concrete flat slab ceilings and reinforced concrete ribbed slab ceilings up to 240 minutes.
In the event of fire, Hensel Hensotherm 820 KS forms a heat-insulating barrier of carbon foam and thus prevents the concrete structural elements from heating up and the concrete from flaking off the steel reinforcement – patented under European Patent No. 2686391. Hensotherm 820 KS greatly delays the build-up of heat in concrete. At temperatures over 330°C, concrete and steel reinforcements expand at different rates.
It is tested in compliance with the European standard EN 13381-3:2015, analogous to prEN 13381-3:2012, and is approved to Warringtonfire EWCL Certificate No. ME 5119.
Hensel Hensotherm 820 KS is easy to use, puts no load on the surrounding structure and is maintenance free.
This product is a 'Hensel Green Product' with low VOC (< 6g/l), an A+ VOC emission class, LEED confirmation and is AgBB tested. It is a product very well suited for Minergie-(A-/P-) Eco low energy consumption buildings and corresponds to Priority 1 of Eco-BKP.
