Questions
Question about the product
michael horn on 2022-06-22 21:44:53 | Question:
is one coat of primer and one coat of top coat usually sufficent |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Regarding the Rust-Oleum Mathys Metal Cladding Primer if the substrate is bare or blasted steel 2 coats are recommended. For the Rust-Oleum Mathys Metal Cladding Topcoat we would recommend 1 to 2 coats.
Kieron on 2021-08-02 14:19:12 | Question:
Would I be able to spray this through a compressor spray gun? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
It is recommended this be applied by brish roller or airless spray only - air-atomised spray is not recommended.
Sharron on 2019-11-30 11:41:57 | Question:
We have just over-plated our narrow boat in steel. We would like to use this as added protection on seams etc. Will we be able to black out hull with bitumen afterwards? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Rust-Oleum Mathys Metal Cladding Topcoat would not be suitable for this application, we would instead recommend considering something like Teamac Metaclor Underwater CR Primer.
Emma on 2018-11-09 07:37:38 | Question:
Our cladding has rust spots forming on it will this paint kill the rust or do we need to treat with something prior to using your paint in order to kill the rust? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Prepare and prime rusty spots and edge laps with Rust-Oleum Mathys Noxyde or Rust-Oleum Mathys Noxyde Pegarust, min 50mm past junction and under lap before application of Rust-Oleum Mathys Metal Cladding Topcoat.
Tony Allwood on 2016-06-06 14:33:47 | Question:
