Rust-Oleum 3302 CombiPrimer Adhesion Primer - Fast-Drying Primer
The Rust-Oleum CombiPrimer Adhesion Primer is a solvent-based acrylic primer designed to provide a smooth, coatable surface on various dense substrates. Its unique formula ensures exceptional adhesion on surfaces such as galvanised steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, glass, and porcelain, making it an essential component for both industrial and professional applications.
Application and Usage
This primer is particularly effective when applied with natural bristle brushes, ensuring an even coating. It remains tacky upon drying, allowing for subsequent coats to be applied within 30 minutes to 24 hours. It is crucial to recoat as soon as possible to avoid dust and dirt entrapment.
- Apply on clean, dry surfaces free from grease, oil, and other contaminants.
- Ideal for use on smooth, dense surfaces like glass and metals.
- Not suitable for use on porous surfaces or in environments with high humidity.
- For optimal results, use in well-ventilated areas.
Benefits
The CombiPrimer Adhesion Primer offers several benefits, including:
- Excellent adhesion on non-porous surfaces.
- High coverage rate, making it cost-effective for large projects.
- Quick recoating time, enhancing productivity.
The primer is designed to work seamlessly with Rust-Oleum's CombiColor Original and CombiColor Multi-Surface topcoats, ensuring a robust and durable finish.

Questions
Question about the product
Spencer on 2020-04-01 14:49:00 | Question:
Hi I want to colour code my car bumpers using combi colour . Is this primer ok to use on them . Also is there a flexing agent I could use ? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
There is not a flexing agent available of Combi colour, but you could consider Rust-Oleum CombiColor Multi-Surface as this is suitable for most plastics without a primer and is inherently flexible already.
sarah nicholson on 2020-03-26 16:46:01 | Question:
I have some old galvanised water tanks which are rusty inside. I want to put soil in them & then plant them up. I have used a drill with wire brush to remove all the flaking dirt & rust inside but what should I paint them with please before filling them (they will have holes in the bottom) - and how long will I need to leave it to dry please. Thanks in advance |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
We would suggest Teamac Metaclor Antifouling Primer followed by 2 coats of Teamac Chlorvar Chlorinated Rubber Paint. Leave at least 2 weeks before filling.
Rory on 2020-02-18 13:01:39 | Question:
Can this be applied direct to new mill finished aluminium sheeting or would you need to prepare the surface beyond cleaning and degreasing it? Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Rust-Oleum 3302 CombiPrimer Adhesion should be used on galvanised steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, glass, porcelain and other smooth, dense surfaces followed by Rust-Oleum CombiColor or Rust-Oleum CombiColor Multi-Surface. Remove grease, oil and all other surface contaminations by alkaline or high pressure cleaning in combination with appropriate detergents. Remove previous coatings completely. Remove salts, 'white rust', etc., by washing with Rust-Oleum Mathys 108 Surfa Etch Solution. The surface must be clean and dry during application.
chris on 2018-10-26 17:53:48 | Question:
i need to re paint my 25ft aluminium boat , some areas need priming others just painting , i also require an antifowling paint for the hull any sugestions , many thanks chris |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Above waterline - Remove all loose and damaged existing coating, abrade bare aluminium and spot prime immediately with Teamac QD Zinc Phosphate Primer. Undercoat primed areas with Teamac Marine Undercoat then undercoat the whole area. Finish with 2 coats of Teamac Marine Gloss. Hull – Remove all loose and damaged existing coating and all marine growth. High pressure wash with fresh water. Do a test area with Teamac Metaclor Underwater CR Primer to ensure compatibility with existing antifoul. Abrade bare aluminium and spot prime immediately with Teamac Metaclor Underwater CR Primer then coat the whole hull with Teamac Metaclor Underwater CR Primer. Finally apply 2 coats of Teamac Antifouling A.
