Kolorbond DecoPro
This two-pack polyurethane (PU) coating is designed for various substrates, including metals, GRP, aluminium, and hard plastics. It offers excellent durability and protection, making it suitable for industrial use. Whether you need a smooth finish on metal surfaces or want to enhance the longevity of plastic components, this product delivers a high-quality, long-lasting solution. Available in several gloss levels, it provides versatility for different appearance preferences.
Application and Use
The product is best applied with a brush or roller, but it can also be spray-applied with a maximum of 20% K2 Thinners for better consistency. It dries quickly, becoming dust-free in an hour and achieving full hardness within 16 hours at room temperature. To ensure optimal results, clean and prepare surfaces before application. It is suitable for use on metals such as cast iron and steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, and PVCu. For best adhesion to glass, use the Windowprep cleaning solution along with 75ml of G-Pro mixed with the paint.
Preparation and Mixing
Ensure proper preparation of substrates by abrading surfaces, cleaning with appropriate solutions, and ensuring they are free from dirt, grease, or contaminants. Mix four parts of the base product with one part K2 Hardener by volume for a uniform application. The mixed product has a working time (pot life) of two hours at 20°C, so ensure you use the mixture within this period.

Restrictions and Limitations
This product is designed for professional and industrial applications only when sprayed. It must not be used in confined spaces without proper ventilation. Operatives using spray equipment must wear air-fed spray masks and protective gloves to avoid inhalation of harmful vapours. Do not apply on surfaces that are not properly prepared, as this will affect the performance and durability of the coating. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight during storage, and do not store containers in temperatures above 50°C.

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Assuming the composite door is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet this product can be used for this application. This is a two pack product, as such it has a short potlife for application, this is suitable for brush application. Also for brush application we can also recommend the Kolorbond uPVC Painting Kits, this is a single pack water based option that comes complete wth the preparatory cleaners required. Both options when prepared and applied with the preparatory products have a 10 year adhesion guarantee and a 5 year colour fastness guarantee. | |

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Assuming the upvc is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet this product can be used. This is a 2 pack product if a waterbased lower odour product would be more suitable Technispray Kolorbond Aquatek could be used. The preparation of the substrates is the same. Clean the substrate using Technispray VinylKleen. Thoroughly clean the surface again using Technispray WindowPrep on a clean white cloth which should be regularly turned.
