A high-performance, multi-surface paint available in a wide range of grey colours including RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey. Designed for long-term decoration, it is perfect for uPVC windows and doors, timber, metal, masonry, plastic (including composite), concrete, cladding, and much more, forming a durable, vapour-permeable, water-shedding coating. The paint contains a biocide to protect against fungal degradation, offers excellent resistance to cracking, blistering, and flaking, and is re-coatable in just one hour. It is suitable for professional and industrial use.
To apply, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of contaminants. The paint is self-priming, bonds to existing glossy paints without sanding, and dries to touch in one hour, achieving full cure in seven days. Not intended for exterior floors, decks, or surfaces subject to water immersion, it is easy to apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer. Store indoors between 5°C and 25°C. For safety, it contains 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and other biocides that may cause allergic reactions. Dispose of contents and containers according to local regulations.  Steven Langstaff on 2024-08-14 18:08:03 | Question: We have 2 large log cabins that have previously been treated with cedar oil and Barrettine’s Wood Protective Treatment some time ago and so the cabin is not oily or greasy to the touch (rather dry), but does appear to have a waxy surface (scrapable off to a point) although id rather not scrape it off as it would take a long time and would not be perfect. Can Zinsser AllCoat Exterior Shades of Grey be used in this case or do you have any advice or products to cover the existing coatings and protect the cabin. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Due to being Oil-Based, this product will allow for the majority of exterior paints to be applied over the top of this coating. Zinsser have advised assuming the existing coating is abraded, and is clean, dry and sound, you could consider both the Allcoat Exterior Satin Water or Solvent-Based paints, but to apply to a small test area firstly, to check for compatibility and adhesion. | |

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Zinsser Allcoat Exterior would be a suitable option for application to UPVC. A more suitable option would be the Kolorbond UPVC Painting Kits. Assuming the composite door is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the application instructions, the Kolorbond system will provide a 10 year adhesion and 5 year colour fastness guarantee. | |

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Yes this product would be suitable for this application, as breeze blocks are highly porous it may take multiple coats to achieve coverage. This product can be thinned upto a maximum of 10% with clean water which would be recommended for the first coat. | |
