We don't recommend the use of dyes or pigments with our 201 Epoxy Repair Mortar, however it can be pigmented to any RAL or BS colour on request by ourselves. It should be noted though that due to the filler in the product, colours will not be exact. 201 Epoxy Repair Mortar can also be over painted with compatible topcoats if desired.

Can this product be used on polished concrete floors? I need to be able to polish the repair once done.

201 Epoxy Repair Mortar has a fairly tight finish. You will have to mechanically grind and then polish the system to try to match the finish of the concrete.

On two roof gullies, the concrete has fallen away from the roof tile edgings. I intend to hack out the decaying concrete and fill the edgings with a suitable product. Can you recommend anything?

Yes, as long as you allow sufficient time for the 201 Epoxy Repair Mortar to cure before refilling the pool it can be used and left un-coated or re-coated with a compatible covering.

ColourPicker Explained

In general we sort colours for products into 2 main groups - ‘Ready Mixed’ and ‘Tinted’.
Tinted colours will always be more expensive than Ready Mixed colours as they need to be produced at the time of order using a tinting machine dispensing colourant into a base*.
During busy periods, this means that tinted colours could take longer, for example – a ready mixed colour ordered on a 3-5 day delivery might arrive within 3 days, however a tinted colour might take the full 5 days to arrive.

To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options.

To ensure fair pricing, we split colours into ‘Price Bands’ to group together similar priced colours. If you wish to search for the cheapest tinted colours, always select Price Band 1.

Description

201 Epoxy Repair Mortar is a high strength, trowel applied, two component epoxy resin mortar. Designed for repairs to spalled or damaged concrete, chemical bunds, bedding pre-cast concrete beams, nosings on expansion joints and floor repairs.

201 Epoxy Repair Mortar is a blend of epoxy resin, polyamine curing agent, graded aggregate and colour pigments. The mixed material is applied to a suitably prepared surface, and quickly cures to form a durable, abrasion and chemical resistant repair.

Coverage

5kg pack yields 2.5 litres of material, sufficient for 0.5m² @ 5mm thickness (10kg pack pro-rata)

Surface Preparation

Remove all laitance, spalled concrete, grease, oil, dust, and other contaminants by scabbling or bush hammering
Any exposed reinforcing steel shall be fully exposed by cutting out around its full circumference, and cleaned by abrading or grit blasting to remove rust, scale, etc

Priming:

Primer not normally required

Mixing:

201 Epoxy Repair Mortar is supplied as a two component pack
Each component is pre-weighed and ready to mix
The contents of the curing agent should be added into the base container
Thoroughly mix the two components by spatula, low speed drill/stirrer or forced action mixer

Mixing Ratio:

By Weight = 100 Base : 5.1 Curing Agent

Application

Apply the 201 Epoxy Repair Mortar by tamping and trowelling to ensure good compaction and a tight finish
The material should not be feather edged
Maximum thickness in horizontal applications is 50mm

Cleaning

Clean equipment with 109 Tool Cleaner prior to curing of the mortar

Curing & Overcoating

201 Epoxy Repair Mortar will have hardened sufficiently after 5-6 hours cure @ 15-20°C to allow full trafficking
Longer periods of cure will be necessary at lower temperatures
Full mechanical and chemical resistant properties will be achieved after 3 days cure @ 20°C
It is preferable to apply a sealer coat if exposure to chemicals is likely
Please consult our Technical Department for specific recommendations

Limitations

Do not apply to wet or uncured concrete surfaces
Do not apply at temperatures of 3°C or less

Storage & Shelf Life

Store in dry conditions at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C
Avoid low temperature storage prior to use of the material
Do not expose to freezing conditions
201 Epoxy Repair Mortar has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in original, unopened containers in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions

Health & Safety

Wear gloves and goggles
Wash off splashes immediately with soap and water
Any eye contamination must be rapidly irrigated with copious amounts of water, and immediate medical attention sought
