Description

404 Epoxy Metal Primer is a two pack, water-based, epoxy, anti-corrosive primer designed for the protection of steelwork. Whilst optimum performance will only be achieved by applying to well prepared substrates, 404 Epoxy Metal Primer will adhere well to minimally prepared surfaces.

404 Epoxy Metal Primer has been formulated to provide fast touch dry times and rapid hardness development.

Recommended for use as an anti-corrosive primer for steelwork, and also as a holding primer for grit blasted steel surfaces.

This product is for Professional Use Only.

Coverage

  • 1 litre of 404 Epoxy Metal Primer will be sufficient to treat 4-6m² of surface, achieving an overall dry film thickness of 100-150 microns

Surface Preparation

Steel/Galvanised steel:

  • Any rust, mill scale and other contaminants should be removed by gritblasting to Swedish Standard Sa 2.5

Mixing Ratio:

  • By Volume - 1 Base : 1 Curing Agent
  • By Weight - 62.2 Base : 100 Curing Agent

Application

  • Apply the material by brush, roller or airless spray, at a nominal rate of 4-6m² per litre per coat

Cleaning

Curing

  • Following 4 hours cure @ 20ºC the material will be hard dry, and then may be re-coated
  • Allow 7 days cure @20ºC for optimum chemical resistance and mechanical properties
  • The primer may be allowed to age and weather for a maximum period of up to 2 months prior to top coating
