Questions
Question about the product
Jenny on 2024-07-15 08:36:11 | Question:
Is this safe to use over metal guilding? Im about to attempt to faux gold leaf a ceiling and need a clear satin finish that will not tarnish the faux gold. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
No, we wouldn't recommend this product for application in this scenario. As an alternative, assuming the surface is prepared as detailed in the technical datasheeet, you could consider Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer, this will give a high quality finish to a choice of Gloss or Satin finish, whilst being water, stain and heat resistant.
Dominique Salmon on 2023-11-30 09:10:10 | Question:
Good morning, I am looking for a heat resistant varnish for trays that have already been decoupaged, painted and varnished with non heat resistant varnish, would this product be the right one? Thank you. Dominique. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product wouldn't be suitable for this application. Assuming the substrate is prepared as detailed in the application instructions, we'd recommend Polyvine Multi-Surface Lacquer for this type of application. This product is a hard, crosslinked acrylic with heat resistant properties, that is easy to clean down with a damp cloth, and popular for decoupage coasters. A small test sample would be recommended to ensure this is comaptible for full application.
