The purpose of passive fire protection is to contain the spread of fire for sufficient time to permit the safe evacuation of all occupants of the premises and the arrival of the fire services. Protecta has a full range of fire-resistant sealants and adhesives, compounds and boards, pipe collars and cable wraps and coatings that remain dormant, or inert, during normal conditions but become active in a fire situation. An integral component of structural fire protection in a building, designed to contain fires or slow their spread.
