Good Afternoon I have a gas fireplace with marble sides and base that has a wood mantle and is framed in wood. I am renovating and would like to paint the wood white. Please let me know what kind of paint to use as a finishing paint. Also, do I have to sand the wood? I would appreciate any advice you could give me for this project. Thank You! Annette
Assuming the timber is bare, it is not exposed to temperatures over 70°C it is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Zinsser Cover Stain followed by Zinsser Perma-White Interior.
This is available in many RAL and BS colours in a matt or satin finish.
This is a scrubbable paint suitable for high humidity areas.
