Hello I have a log burning stove positioned in a corner of a shepherd hut with a metal guard behind it attached to the wall (wooden) with an air gap to protect the wall from the heat of the stove. I need a heat resistant paint to touch up the metal wall protector. I have tried to use a metal primer and then paint over with Chesney stove paint but this causes the primer to bubble and no longer adhere to the metal. What paint and primer would you advise - the metal was originally powder coated but this has peeled off. Thank you
Assuming the metal guard is not subject to temperatures over 600°C, it is clean, dry, sound and can be prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet Jotun Solvalitt could be used.
Assuming the metal guard is steel it must be blasted to SA2.5 prior to application, this paint can be mixed to many RAL and BS colours in a matt finish.
