Hello, I was hoping you could assist with the selection of the correct paint for a ceiling suffering flaking paint, damp & condensation. This is due to a small amount of steady water ingress from a faulty chimney/chimney flashing or a roof leak. I am still trying to trace the source afrer 5 years! I realise the paint won't cure the problem but it should buy me time whilst the roof investigations continue. I was thinking of either Brittania Dampproofing paint or Coovars anti condensation paint or Zinsser mould resisting paint. It needs to be paintable onto a damp previously painted surface. What do you think? Thank you Neil Fenby [email protected]
Thank you for the enquiry, we would not recommend painting the area till the cause of the leak has been found and fixed.
Once this has been done, the ceiling has dried out, it is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet Zinsser Perma-White Interior.
