By not great condition we are assuming you are referring to the existing paint and not the wood itself. After preparation and removal of all failing, loose, flaking paint, prime all bare areas with Zinsser Cover Stain and apply 2-3 coats of one of the Zinsser AllCoat Exterior Water Based range in your chosen colour and finish.
