Rust-Oleum CombiColor Original Aerosols can be used for application over existing paints and directly to bare metal. The surface should be clean, dry and any existing rust should be removed prior to application. The simplest way of preparing the steel would be to use a wire brush to remove all loose and flaking rust before painting.
