Need Help?

Hello there. Building control have had a look at a building that was completed recently, and recommended that the steels are painted with 30min resistant paint, problem is that the steels are a feature and would like to keep them metal coloured! Do you have a clear varnish or lacquer that would do the job? Many thanks Laurie

Unfortunately not, we're not aware of any clear fire protection coating for steel on the market currently.

If a coloured paint system is acceptable, please provide us with as much of the following information as possible;

  • Each steel section dimension (i.e. 254x146x37 UB)
  • Quantity and length of each section (or overall meterage for each section)
  • Orientation (horizontal or vertical)
  • Number of sides to be painted (all sides, 3 sides, 1 flange, etc.)
  • Environment (internal, external, car park, chemical exposure, etc.)
  • Application on site or in shop
