Need Help?

Hi there, I would really appreciate your help with the following technical query... The Job: To paint the area around an open gas fire. The area is stone and is currently pained black due to the use of heat resistant paint. I need to use a much lighter coloured paint, rather than usual the black and silver heat resistant paint. Also, the area around the fire does not get very hot, even if the fire has been on for a few hours. The Queries: Are there any other heat resistant paints aside from black or silver? Is there a way I could use a normal water based paint on the stone, and put some kind of heat resistant or flame retardant coating over this? Are there any ideas / suggestions that you could give to me? For example, combination of products? Many thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Kind Regards Tariq
