I live in a block of flats which was built 10 years ago. I am am looking for water repellent paint to repaint flat balcony handrails, which have not been repainted since the building was constructed. As the handrails are flat water tends to settle and has caused some areas to rust. I would like to know whether there is a suitable paint which might manage to repel some of this water. The paintwork is dark green..
We would suggest a THOROUGH de-rust to remove all rust, failing existing coatings, etc. Then spot prime with Rust-Oleum 9169 Epoxy Rust Primer on areas of bare clean metal, followed by Rust-Oleum 9100 High Performance Epoxy and finally Rust-Oleum 9200 Rust-O-Thane.
