Advice please - we in our very exposed NE Cumbrian church are replacing purlins and timber on the church roof; we are looking for a long-lasting yet easy to apply wood paint that will gaurantee we won't need to be repainting for decades - what is possible and what products do you recomend please?
We do not have a product which will guarantee no maintenance is required for decades.
But assuming the timber is bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we can recommend Zanders PF59 Stain Blocking Primer Finish followed by Wethertex OT25 Wood-Flex Satin Opaque Timber Paint.
This is available in many RAL, NCS or BS colours in a matt finish.
This can provide upto 12 years of protection.
