Need Help?

Hi, I wanted some advice on which paint to use to paint a lamp base I wish to change the colour of. It's a metal floor lamp with a painted textured surface, I'm not too sure what type of metal it is I'm afraid, it's heavy but not as heavy as cast iron. Also, if it is safe for me to paint it due to heat from the bulb and any toxic fumes which could be emitted? I will be really grateful for your help please. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Many Thanks Simi

Rust-Oleum CombiColor Original is heat resistant up to 90°C (dry heat), so as long as the surfaces being painted didn't exceed this temperature it should be OK.

This can be mixed to many RAL, NCS and BS colours in a satin or gloss finish.

We would recommend testing for compatibility and adhesion on the previously painted lamp prior to full application.

It also must be clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet.

This is a solvent based paint so it will have an odour untill cured and possibly for a few heat cycles.
